Alex Wright is an award winning professional multi-instrumentalist and teacher from Lincoln, NE. Since 2009, Alex has taught hundreds of students, toured internationally with popular artists, written and recorded music with Grammy award winning producers, and his music has been featured on major TV shows like “The Walking Dead”, “Suits”, and more.

BIO
ALEX WRIGHT
Born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Alex began his musical journey at the age of 3, learning his favorite songs by ear. He studied classical piano at the University of Nebraska with Dr. Paul Barnes, an internationally renowned pianist.
In 2008, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, and started his teaching and music career. He worked at a handful of music schools and studios, most notably the Irvine School of Music and the Van Tuyl Music Academy, before starting his own teaching studio.
Alex performed internationally with Demi Lovato and the Jonas Brothers in Europe, South America, and in the US, winning the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for “Best Tour”. After a couple of years performing with pop artists, he decided to put his energy into more creative pursuits and joined the indie-rock band Kiev.
Kiev's debut album "Falling Bough Wisdom Teeth" was written and recorded with Grammy Award-winning engineers and producers who are known for working with artists like Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Weezer, and many more.
In 2014, Kiev received 'Album of the Year' from the Orange County Music Awards. In the same year, Kiev’s hit song “Be Gone Dull Cage” gained recognition by being featured in an episode of the television series “The Walking Dead,” and their song “Tired Lungs” was featured in the television series “Suits”.

I fell in love with the guitar when I was 12 years old. There are many classic songs that I like to teach that work great as a platform to learn the basics of the instrument and music theory. Whether you have an acoustic, electric, or both we would explore many different techniques while maintaining an emphasis on the type of music you enjoy the most.

I began writing music when I was 9 years old and it continues to be one of my greatest passions. I've written music with many different artists, and enjoy working with my students on everything from simple pieces on the piano to songs performed by an entire band. Whether you sing or not, I can help you to explore your unique voice to share with the world.
PIANO LESSONS
From Beginner to Advanced
Growing up I had the hardest time finding a good piano teacher. Since I could play by ear, most instructors couldn't fit me into their typical teaching method. I pride myself in being a fun and energetic teacher who is able to cater my lessons to a wide variety of students, building on their strengths while developing the skills they need to be a great pianist.
